Leading Industry Analyst Firm Highlights DBAM in Innovative Emerging IT Providers Insight Report

Wakefield, 28 October 2009 - DBAM, the leading provider of advanced application acceleration technologies, has been highlighted as an innovative emerging provider in the UK hi-tech sector. In the latest Dataquest Insight: Innovative Emerging U.K. IT Providers Find Challenges and Opportunities (published 8 October 2009) Gartner highlights emerging IT providers, listing eight companies that it has interacted with over the past year and identified as having significant operations in their respective markets.

In the report, Gartner points notes: “Network optimization has become an important part of everyday bandwidth usage in businesses”. DBAM has been developing WAN optimisation appliances for five years and is at the forefront of developments that will see the functionality that has so far been provided within hardware-based appliances delivered as a virtual software platform.

DBAM has already developed acceleration technologies that are virtualised or that can be embedded into other devices and software solutions. Paris Arey, CEO of the company, states: “The focus of our R&D activity is now is on providing fully integrated and seamless software-only acceleration, and we believe we are well ahead of the market in this area. Our recently released EP VIRTUAL software-only product family has been very well-received and we are expecting to see significant growth from this area of our business over the coming 12 months.”

EP VIRTUAL enables users in remote or branch offices and mobile workers to accelerate TCP-based applications such as Microsoft Exchange messaging, SharePoint collaboration and Windows file sharing across WAN connections to a central data centre or server.

DBAM has recently extending its sales and support, a recommendation of the Gartner report, adding a number of new personnel with in-depth experience in the WAN optimisation sector and in channel development to its team in recent months. It has also implemented initiatives and programmes to recruit more resellers with a view to building a partner network capable of addressing the tremendous potential for its technology to be deployed across organisations of all sizes.
