DBAM and Bell Micro Plan to Open up Potential of Applications Acceleration for Value-Added ResellersWakefield, 08 December 2009– DBAM, the leading developer of advanced application acceleration technologies, has signed a UK distribution agreement with Bell Micro, opening up the potential for many more value-added resellers to develop profitable new revenue streams with the company’s EP range of appliances and software.
Bell Micro will carry the full range of DBAM’s WAN optimisation solutions, including the EP series of appliances for data centres and remote offices and the latest software-only versions of the company’s technology, EP VIRTUAL and EP CLIENT. With these solutions, VARs can open up the massive and growing potential to enable organisations to drive higher performance and return on investment in their key applications and bandwidth. Mike Hemes as Regional Director of Sales for Europe at DBAM, says the agreement with Bell Micro will enable many more resellers to address the growing potential for WAN optimisation solutions in the UK. “With its specialist knowledge and extensive experience of working with advanced software and applications acceleration technologies, Bell Micro has all the commercial and technical qualities required to help value-added resellers develop their understanding of DBAM’s systems and take them to market effectively. With the recent introduction of our new software-only solutions, the potential for VARs to drive significant business in this rapidly-growing sector of the market is very considerable indeed. We will be working closely with Bell Micro to ensure that we bring those opportunities to as many resellers as possible.” With operational costs under pressure and the need to maintain 24/7 connectivity for remote offices and mobile workers, the opportunity for VARs to drive incremental sales are significant, says Ed Callacher, Divisional Director, Bell Micro: “In the EP range of appliances and software solutions, DBAM has a unique set of innovative technologies that enable key technologies and solutions such as virtualisation and cloud computing. We see tremendous opportunities for resellers both to deliver exceptional value for customers, and to develop new and highly profitable revenue streams for their own business with DBAM’s systems. In an environment where all organisations are looking to drive higher levels of ROI on their investments and ensure that they can remain flexible and responsive to customer needs, the opportunities are very significant indeed.” DBAM’s EP solutions enable organisations to accelerate applications and network traffic across wide-area connections to ensure optimum performance and availability. Gartner, in its October 2009 Dataquest Insight: Innovative Emerging U.K. IT Providers Find Challenges and Opportunities report, highlighted DBAM as one of eight emerging IT providers that it has interacted with and identified as having significant operations in their respective markets. According to independent tests by Tolly Group, DBAM’s innovative solutions are capable of accelerating data transmissions by up to 174 times over a WAN connection, and of increasing available bandwidth by up to 23,000 times for WFS and email. The company is leading the way in the development of software-only acceleration technologies which can be embedded and integrated with key applications and infrastructures and recently launched its first software-only offerings. EP VIRTUAL enables users in remote or branch offices to accelerate Microsoft Exchange messaging, SharePoint collaboration and Windows file sharing across WAN connections to a central data centre or server. EP CLIENT extends similar capabilities to individual mobile workers, whether they are working from home, from a customer site or on the move. --- ends --- About DBAM DBAM is a global technology leader in WAN optimisation and application acceleration technologies.
