Q. What are Bandwidth Rules?
A. Bandwidth rules are discrete segments of the upstream and downstream bandwidth and the assigned characteristics of traffic that passed through that segment. When you click on the rule e.g. FastWay above the following details may be edited.
- Exbandable : If this rule may request further bandwidth resources. - Priority: the level of Priority the rule has to obtain the borrow rate. - Sharing: How bandwidth should be distributed among traffic flows passing through the rule. - Burst : The amount of traffic that may be sent by this rule without being interrupted. - Borrow: the maximum bandwidth the rule can obtain from other rules that may not be using there entire allotment. - Rate : the guaranteed rate to be given to this bandwidth rule. - Enter : On enter a process a traffic process that all traffic should follow when passing through this rule. - Exit : On exit a process a traffic process that all traffic should follow when passing through this rule.
